Loughborough MP and Education Minister Nicky Morgan has long been a supporter of the Mountsorrel and Rothley Heritage Centre Project. On Friday she took time out from her busy schedule for a tour of the Heritage Centre, quarry area and nature trail. For many of the volunteers it was also their first opportunity to see inside the almost complete heritage centre building.
Inside the tour included the tea room, exhibition rooms, quiet room and staff room. Wisely wearing wellies the tour moved down to the completed Railway and Exhibition buildings, before examining progress on the Stonemasons’ Huts and the a quick trip up the Nunckley trail to see the ECO classroom area.
