The Great Central Railway will be running steam trains along the Mountsorrel Railway over the weekend of March 24th & 25th. This is the first time steam passenger trains have run since the opening of the line back in 2015 and it is the only confirmed steam weekend for this year, so don’t miss it! An excellent day with lots of passengers on the trains, our first day of shunting demonstrations and a steady stream of youngsters trying their hand at driving our miniature trains. A quick thank you to all the volunteers for marshalling the site running the attractions.
What makes this weekend so special? It is the first time ever that visitors will be able to catch a train at one of the GCR stations and ride through to the heritage centre and Mountsorrel stations, or vice versa.
