Our fun little ride-on 2ft gauge railway, the Quarry Bottom Railway has some of the tightest curves you will find anywhere on a 2ft gauge railway. Train rides run for 3 laps of our beautiful formal gardens, giving a different view of the garden as you travel around the circuit. Each ride lasts for approximately 6 minutes.
Rides cost £2 adults and £1 children aged 2 to 15.
The QBR is operated and maintained entirely by our volunteers. The railway operates at weekends from March to October and weekdays during school holidays . We need additional volunteers to help operate the railway for visitors. If you are interested please take a look at our volunteering opportunities page. Anyone aged 18 or over can volunteer. We are always happy to welcome volunteers and training is provided.
