Site Tours

We offer pre-booked site tours for groups.

One of our knowledgeable volunteers will take your group around the site showing areas of interest and providing background information and stories that you wouldn’t normally see or find out about. A tour group must be made up of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 people. If groups exceed 20 people it is possible for the group to split and proceed on separate tours. Tours last from an hour to 90 minutes and can be tailored to each group’s specific interests. For example, tours can be ecology themed, history themed or a combination of both. Tours cost £6 per person (including admission charge), with a 50% non returnable deposit payable at the time of booking.

Tours are available to start between 10:30am and 3:00pm 7 days a week and are subject to volunteer availability.

For more details please email tours@heritage-centre.co.uk stating the date and time you are interested in and the approximate number in your group that wish to attend. Alternatively please complete the form below.

Talks

As an alternative to a site tour one of our speakers is available to give talks on the history of Mountsorrel Quarry, the Railway and the development of the Heritage Centre. The talks are available in person or online using Zoom. We ask for a donation to the Heritage Centre to cover our expenses. If you are interested in a talk then please e-mail talks@heritage-centre.co.uk for further details.
