As if you need reminding Christmas is only a few weeks away! Have you thought about starting your Christmas shopping yet?
If you are looking for something a little different for that special friend or loved one, then you might find it at the heritage centre.
Our boot scrapers are back again! Our volunteers have been hard at work making boot scrapers from surplus railway track components left over from the restoration of the Mountsorrel Railway, some of which are almost 100 years old. Boot scrapers would be an ideal addition outside your front or back door. They cost £38 each.
Local Artist Keith Linington has produced a wonderful water colour painting of LMS Jinty no. 47406 standing at Nunckley Hill station, with the heritage centre in the background. Keith has kindly produced a limited edition run of only 30 copies of the painting. These have been professionally framed and are priced to sell quickly at only £45.
We still have a few commemorative photo books of last January’s royal visit to the heritage centre. Full of high quality photographs taken on the day, they make an excellent memento of the visit. Numbers are limited so get them whilst you can. They are priced at £5.95.
If you fancy treating someone to afternoon tea at Granite’s, then we have Afternoon Tea vouchers available at £31.95 for two people.
Finally if you are looking for something to attract wildlife to your garden then we have a selection of bird boxes, insect houses and hedgehog houses available. These are hand made by one of our talented volunteers and sell quickly.
Funds raised from the sale of these items go towards our heritage restoration and ecology projects. They can be purchased from the counter at Granite’s.
