Our Railway Museum Extension Appeal has been running since late September and we are half way to our target of £50,000.
So what is this “Black Friday” deal you mentioned?
Well something called “Brexit” is having a rather unsettling effect on the cost of steel and could cause the cost of the building to increase by 10% or more. So we are trying to reach at least £31,000, the cost of the structure, by the end of November. That way we can place an order before the full impact of the Brexit uncertainty kicks in.
So what IS this “Black Friday” deal??
Recognising the urgency in raising funds our generous supporter, who is providing the match funding for your donations, has agreed to TRIPLE, yes TRIPLE, any donations made from NOW up until Friday November 30th. Every £1 you donate becomes £3 towards our target, and, if you gift aid your donation, it becomes £3.75.
After the 30th November the match funding reverts back to doubling your donation, and after the 25th December the match funding ceases. Of course all donations made before then will continue to be matched (see our FAQ page for clarification).
Any amount large or small is greatly appreciated.
If you would like to donate by cheque then we have a Donation Form which includes a Gift Aid Declaration for you to complete. Please send cheques made payable to “DCRT” (The David Clarke Railway Trust) to 240 Swithland Lane, Rothley, Leicestershire. LE7 7UE (Please write ‘Museum Building Extension’ on the reverse of cheques).
